COLSD staff have noted the paucity of available documents to guide important stakeholder groups’ decisions regarding online instruction for students with disabilities. We also noted the rapid expansion of online learning options and the generally negative evaluations of online learning outcomes in multiple environments. Experimental studies are very limited to non-existent, but the Center’s exploratory and development studies have provided findings for guidance to stakeholders regarding policies, procedures, and practice. These documents provide the staff’s current views and intended for parents, state department staff, licensing agencies, and local school administrators.
